The first car from Dodge to qualify as a full-fledged musclecar was the Coronet R/T, which found instant favor with up-level customers thanks to its extensive standard equipment list. The “gentleman’s musclecar” was highly refined by 1969. Only 317 convertible versions were sold in 1969, and this drop dead gorgeous Yellow on White R/T is one of the best around today.
Powered by the 440/375 HP 4-barrel back with a Torqueflite automatic transmission. The car was restored by well-known Mopar parts and restoration experts Hoffman’s Winners Circle for their corporate collection. The understated Yellow finish is accented with the new-for-69 Black R/T bumblebee stripe and bright sill and wheel well moldings. A white tonneau cover hides the black convertible top and it rolls on a rare set of genuine Kelsey-Hayes wheels mounting Firestone Red Stripe Tires.
The handsome interior is finished in White upholstery and door panels on Black dash and carpeting for the classic top-down look. Options include a/c, power steering, power brakes, console shifter, power top A01 light group, wood grain rim steering wheel, bright pedal trim and remote driver’s mirror.
This beautiful and rare 1969 Coronet R/T convertible represents an all-time Dodge favorite with a deep option list that will satisfy any “Scat Pak” enthusiast.
